There's something very amusingly pathetic about a cat who's meowing imploringly for food, gazing up at you with big eyes and pleading towards the kitchen.... who isn't making the slightest sound. It's not that she can't make a noise (I still have memories of sleep shattered by yowling at 4am), but for some reason, these meows are soundless. It's very funny - and much easier to ignore! ;).
I am going to feed her, by the way. In about five minutes. That's a long time for a small cat, so she's feeling hard done by, but that's nothing unusual. She has exacting feline standards, after all.
