Sometimes it seems like life goes on holiday for the summer. Everything just seems to take that much longer, to be that much more relaxed. What is it about this time of year that has that effect? It's not the weather - we've been blessed with the usual British summer variety of torrential rain, howling gales, blazing sun and ominous clouds. It's not that there's not interesting things happening - lots of friends have had babies and there's been several weddings, never mind holidays and visits and so on. Life is definitely continuing. It just seems, somehow, that it's meandering gently along, and not in any hurry to get anywhere.
