She had arranged to meet him at the beach. It was a crisp winter afternoon. They sat on the sand and enjoyed the winter sea breeze as they bantered guardedly about things they regretted from the past. As the afternoon drew to a close, she looked into his eyes and reached up to touch his cheek. As their lips met she sighed blissfully. And then the alarm clock went off.
