ExcelSaga/ElegyOfTheDogs

I'd say "Don't worry, it doesn't add to the plot" but this is ExcelSaga, so that's redundant. Anyhow, it has a followup episode.

Done entirely in the style of a DisneyCartoon? (specifically their 'doggy come home' movies with a healthy dose of LadyAndTheTramp?) Thankfully, no musical numbers.

Anyway. Menchi escapes from Excel's apartment. Decides to run to an old man she remembers being kind to her.
Along the way, meets up with a stereotypical crew - the kind-hearted gang leader, the scottie professor, the gambling bulldog and Lady stolen quite blatantly from the aforementioned Disney.

They travel. But - oh no! They are being hunted by a gang of dog catchers. Who are themselves dogs, and who have guns.

After some misadventures, involving self-sacrifice and high explosives, they come to the old man's house.

Only to discover that the old man is in league with the dog catchers, and that they have been betrayed from within.

The big-dog dog-catcher goes down as the remainder of the gang of five sacrifice themselves for Menchi's happiness.

The old man begs for forgiveness, but, and this is the main reason I love this episode:

Menchi now has a ChainGun?.

Fade to black on a Menchi with an evil gleam in her eye.

{And re-open on another joke}

Today's experiment... failed. But Menchi has a ChainGun?. So it's kinda a success.
