Ok, this will probably suffer from link rot, but will be handy until it does.

First:
[ClickSaver]  You WILL need to disable data execution prevention for this and the client - but it's worth it.  It makes rolling missions much much easier by showing you where they are and what each one will give you, as well as allowing you to automate 'roll me a hundred missions and accept those which have any of the following rewards'.  It also does a half decent job of guessing what you'll be able to sell the rewards for.

But what items are there?
[This site] rips the client database regularly.  It's got a few useful ways of searching it - but the main one is the list of nano's available for each profession.  It's also got tools to work out what implant setups you can create.

And a better planet map:
[CSP Map] (aka. Atlas of Rubi-ka) This allows you to ditch the usual in-game map and use a good one, which marks where player cities are, warns you about control areas and gives 'monsters of this level live here' warnings (though not everywhere).  It even gives positions of some useful NPCs.  You need this map.

In game resources:
There are a number of player run bots.  Talk to them with /tell like you would any player.

The most useful of these are:
Recipebot.  /tell recipebot (drop in an item) will reply with some info about what the item usually sells for and a link to a help page listing what tradeskill processes that item is used in.
It doesn't know every recipe, but it does know most of them.
It has a few other functions, such as 'where can I find this item' - /tell recipebot help for those

Helpbot.  Talk to it to get basic hints about how to play the game.  Useful if you've forgotten what key to use to bring back your quickbar (y) or similar.

Itembot.  Better than helpbot at telling you where items can be found, also useful for finding out what an item will be like at a different quality level.

Shopping bots.  On RK2 'thegms' is the name of a bot which runs basic player shops.  (The game DOES have a built in player-shop system, but you have to have bought the expansions to access it)  It does inventory and searches, but won't actually do the trades.  /tell thegms !help to get started.
