A CollectableCardGame by WebRunner?, better known for WebComics/Adventurers and WebComics/AntiheroForHire?

Cardmaster Conflict exists entirely online, and is completely free; the only money involved is if you buy one of the special Donation Cards.
I'm such a cheapskate.  Two years and I still haven't bought any. --Ultros
In terms of balance, it has a great advantage over paper CCGs - if a card proves to be overpowered or underpowered, it can and likely will be changed to a more balanced version.

The quickest to explain the gameplay to explain the game to a player of MagicTheGathering goes something like this:
- There are only three colours of mana
- Cards have no 'colourless' costs, all mana costs require a specific colour(s)
- MTG: Upwelling is always in play, and you get a free mana of each colour per turn
- Enchant Worlds are alive and well; they're called Locations
- Creatures enter play tapped, and damage on them doesn't heal at end of turn
- Creatures can either attack the opponent or one of their creatures
- All creatures have Trample when attacking the player, although only half of the extra damage goes through
- You can only control 5 creatures and 5 effects (think enchantments) at once  (Think YuGiOh)
- Creatures and effects can all be sacrificed for mana during a special phase.  Most sacrifice for more than they cost to play

Other fun facts:
- If you win a tournament, WebRunner? might make one of a kind trophy card for you
- WebRunner? owns a number of overpowered cards that nobody else has, such as WWBD (WebRunner? Wins By Default)
- One card's name was mispelled as 'Pacificism'.  The community almost unanimously preferred this spelling, and it was never changed.
- Two WebComics expansions have been released.  The first contains cards based WebRunner?'s own comics, as well as WebComics/RPGWorld? and WebComics/StarSomething?.  The second also has cards from WebComics/MacHall, WebComics/KidRadd, WebComics/BasilFlint?, and WebComics/SporkMan?
- There is a card called 'EXP In A Can', and another called 'Evil Pants'
- One tournament ran by a couple of players involves one of them getting as drunk as possible at some future date, and then deciding the deck restrictions and other rules for the tournament

ChrisHowlett would really love someone to tell him a drawback about this, to stop him wanting to waste time on it.
It's pretty dull.  It takes ages to get a decent cardset.  The java client is buggy as hell and loses connection (and thus dumps the game) at the most annoying times.  The art is primitive, the gameplay even more so.  Though IIRC there must be some strategy in it, since I could consistently win when playing against people of my card ranking.  --Vitenka

Lies. All lies.  Okay, to be fair, you do occasionally get timed out for no apparant reason, but it doesn't happen much if you have a semi-decent connection and don't have too much other stuff open at once.  And the art isn't on par with paper TCGs, mostly being either player-made or taken from webcomics.  But the gameplay is excellent, although I agree that it can be a bit slow-going for newbies. --Ultros
Each to their own.  I actually got interested enough to go back and see what happens.  Attempting to log in takes me to a quick "resurrecting old account" message - which usefully (and confidence drainingly) shows my password.  And then takes me back to the login screen.  No way to play.  No way even to get to the chat and complain :)  --Vitenka
You could try asking for help on the forums. --Ultros

Now is a great time to give the game a try.  Webrunner is doing a stress test of the new server, and anybody playing on that server can use the Voucher code VCHEVERYTHING to get 10 copies of every card in the game (including trophy cards and special ones only Webrunner has) until the test is over. --Ultros
