Anything with 'omega' 'primary' or 'ultima(te)' in the name usually counts. Usually accompanied by 'beam' or 'cannon'. There's definitely room for one of those random name generator JavaScripts here.
Weaponry which requires more than one shot, or which is slow acting doesn't really count. (Slow to prepare is just perfect though).
So spreading a plague isn't really colossal death weaponry, but blowing up a planet with a beam cannon is.
