A translation of the recipe on 'FlapJacks' to US measurements (cups and Farhenheit).  For further comments/suggestions for the recipe see the main page.

The normal one is a translation from Canadian - I had no end of trouble measuring 'cups' of unmelted butter :) - SunKitten




1 cup marge
1 1/8 cups sugar
6 cups crushed cornflakes (cup measurement *before* crushing!)
1 cup flour (self raising)
1 3/16 cups porridge oats
(2/16 - 3/16 cups) 2-3 tablespoons treacle/syrup/honey
Interesting other things (e.g. apricot and glace cherry)

Put oven on to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix dry ingredients (Don't forget to crush the cornflakes).

Melt butter and the treacle/syrup/honey, don't let it boil.
Mix in with dry ingredients and add the interesting ingredient if desired.
Put in greased baking tray and firm down with spoon.
Put in oven for 15-20 minutes.

After they're done, remove and, while they're still hot, make indents with a knife to divide the tray into pieces.
When they're cooled, they should break up nicely, although mine usually don't.
