On the one hand, that wasn't quite what I'd imagined. On the other hand, finding out the correlations shouldn't really be a problem, as long as they're treated only as "researching the background to PhoenixFeathers", if you like. Inspirations to the authors to put particular character traits together in particularly distinctive ways :) --AC
It might be helpful for those of us who don't actually know most of the people involved! And, much as I hate to suggest it, it would be a decent place to explain any new characters that are introcduced. (Ah heck with it, I'm way beyond the EventHorizon? of how many characters are involved.) --Vitenka
Heh. I suspect any /new/ characters won't be inspired by anyone in particular... I'm pretty sure that's the case with /Sylvai and the rest of the /LOVECommittee, to take a major example. Since PF started more in the spoof-Cambridge parody-quotes mould, and has moved more into the fantasy-and-plot world, the real-life inspirations are getting less relevant. Um, the PrincessTutu crossover notwithstanding. But, for example, the bottom (the earliest bits) of [this quotes page] may have some familiar lines. --AlexChurchill
Hmm. I was more interested to see how easy it is for people to guess who didn't already know. For example, I suspect a lot of readers won't even know the inspirations for /Niea and /Tamma; whereas /Nikolai may be one of the most easy to guess. The means which people use to make these deductions/guesses would also be interesting. So I hope nobody objects, but I've snipped M-A's list, which was 100% accurate except for not thinking /Niea and /Tamma had inspirations. (See Revision 4 for the Spoiler-type answers - but if you don't already know, I'd be interested to see your guesses first.) --AlexChurchill
CH is quite proud to have got all of M-A's list correct, except for Kurai. But that's a case of insufficient knowledge of the source.
Hm, who could Tamma be? And why would M-A not have realised? And are the two connected? Hm? Hm?
