In case you hadn't guessed, or you thought the title was some kind of subtle hint about something, this show is about Tennis. All about tennis. Nothing but tennis.
For HikaruNoGo fans, imagine HikaruNoGo with Go replaced by tennis, minus the ghost (and the style) and with an overdose of "Look at me! I'm cool!".
An absolutely stereotypical shounen sports anime/manga. The main character/hero is very young and yet defeats those around him easily due to his knowledge of styles in tennis. All problems will be defeated through strength in tennis.
I have seen one episode and I will swear to the fact that the series will go as follows:
Tennis no ouji-sama will awe all those around him with his skill and technique while meeting (and beating) various characters who will start training with him.
There will be an all knowing (and probably mysterious) sensei who trains them in the arts of tennis.
The girl who you meet in the first ep will remain awed of t-n-o-s and will provide him with a perfect excuse to explain his great techniques.
After defeating all of his opponents to certain degrees he will meet someone who defeats him easily. He will then go on special training, probably for several episodes, before learning the special new technique that will allow him to defeat that opponent.
This will happen again.
And again.
I have no intention of watching the rest of the show to find out if I am right. If anyone has the will-power or love of tennis to watch the rest, let me know how close I am.
The first episode could be considered worth watching though, just to see what kind of show this is. I found it amusing, even if it was in a 'laugh-at-the-show' rather than 'laugh-with-the-show' kind of way.
The tennis-fight and PrincessBride moments pretty much made up for the rest anyway...
