[Start at the beginning]

Example strip: Most of them are ongoing plot, so start at episode 1. But they have occasional moments of randomness, like [this one]. (Watch for animation.)

A long, sometimes animated, original sprite comic with a single (long) story arc about ....
(Note about the animation - it's not always obvious whether a frame is going to animate or not.  If the 'next' appears, or the copyright notice, you know it's finished, however.)

Ok, non spoilerish.  Stuff.
KidRadd? is, allegedly, an old eight-bit side-scrolling platformer of what looks like the NES era.  Definately the 80s, if 'radd' didn't give it away already.  He can move about, shoot, shoot bigger blasts, jump and get hurt by the bad guys.
You meet the bad guy named 'bogey' who looks like some kind of turnip.  Later you also meet the obligatory love interest of the game and some more bad guys, including the end guy.  They get quite sarcastic since, as is traditional for a main character (especially one who is just a puppet under player control) Radd is dumb.

They do, after a while, do things (interesting things) other than just play through levels of the game.

The graphics throughout are always old-school 8-bit pixellated in nature, but they're done impressively enough (especially the animated bits) that it would be good even if they had been ripped from a game.

But they haven't.  KidRadd? (and BunnyInPlayLand?, Stack'Em, Broodius and the other games to actually get seen inside) don't actually exist.  Much impressiveness.

... Video game characters escaping their games.

Yep, they escape their emulators and found a little society all of their own.  "The moderators" do all the rescuing of sprites and are in charge.

Be warned, it tries to get philosophical and angsty at points.  But it does it quite well.

It also has perhaps the best BadGirl? of all time.  And has the mascot of an old competitor to the ActionReplay?, as well.
