Time for our guy to reveal himself to the terrorists. He wears black robes and a full face mask, eminently suitable for a goose pilot. And calls himself zero. If it sells toys, don't change it, right?
At least the other characters think he's a stupid ham as well.

Line up to jeer at the bloke we've got strapped to the front of a mech. Jeer, elevensies! We will make you sound brutal and animalistic (and thus entirely killable) by comparing you to a nice cup of tea and a biscuit, for we are British!

The reporter is revealed as a main character. (You can tell, he's insane.) and a great bluff is held with the poison-gas-magical-girl-box.

As an epilogue, mind controlling the guy in charge doesn't automatically instantly win. The British army aren't mindless goons, they say "Hey! Commander, you certain that's a good idea?" and, like, try to stop him. This being an evil army, however, he threatens to shoot them. With a mech.

AC adds: You forgot this bit: the rescued kid refuses to be rescued and walks off to his court-martial, saying he plans to reform the Britannians from the inside. Zero is incredulous, for EvilOnTheGoodiesSide? cannot understand GoodOnTheBaddiesSide?.

: Oh yes. It also (as though the cape wasn't enough) cements the realisation that Zero has gone off the deep end into a mad crusade of destruction. --Vitenka

Post-post-epilogue. Straightjacketed MagicalGirl? turns up to talk to "I'm blind mainly so that it looks like I'm making kitten eyes all the time ^_^", presumably wanting to know where her box has gone.
