That was what I indended when writing, but you're right, the Boggle way is better. Fixed. - MoonShadow
Gosh, I didn't notice that - I was only looking for Boggle words. --Rachael
How are you all scoring so high? I get about 20 at a time - I just can't see the words and click fast enough! --M-A
Could you change it so that spare time is "carried over" when you hit "accept", and if a valid word is highlighted when the time runs out it is automatically accepted? -- DDD
TODO:
Scoring to depend nonlinearly on length of word, and on time remaining when "accept" clicked - (Boggle-style score * seconds remaining), perhaps?
Nice "game over" screen"
Make time go down faster after a while (perhaps not necessary, as the game already gets harder over time since rarer letters tend to hang around and clog up the board)
Animate dropping letters
"Boggle" mode (square board, no letter replacement, no resetting of timer on accepted word, timer starts immediately rather than waiting for first click, no repeated words over life of a game, display/set RNG seed so people can compete on same board).
Would it be possible to have a text input box for typing in words as an alternative to clicking on each letter? I've seen online Boggle games do this. The box gets focus by default, you type in a word and press enter and it clears ready for the next word. The helpful red and green acceptable-word indicators could work as they already do. --Rachael
In principle, yes. Not sure what to do if you type a word that can be achieved in several different ways, though - unlike "boggle", it matters, because the letters making up your word get removed, their columns drop down and are filled with random letters from the top, so in principle if you're quick enough you could shuffle letters into position to make longer words. - MoonShadow
