"Serves 4"
"1 \(12 lbs" "round steak or other beef fillet" "700 g"
"8 oz" "canned sliced mushrooms" "250 g"
"12 oz" "sour cream" "350 ml"
"4 oz" "white wine" "125 ml"
"2 Tbsp" "chopped onion" "30 ml"
"2 Tbsp" "Worcestershire sauce" "30 ml"
"1 tsp" "nutmeg" "5 ml"
"1 Tbsp" "chopped chives"
"1 tsp" "minced garlic" "5 ml" (or more to taste)
"salt"
"pepper"
"pasta or steamed rice"
Cut meat into 12-inch thick by 2 inch long, 1-cm thick by 5-cm long strips.
Saute (ie fry) the onions in butter until brown.
Place meat in pan with onions.
Sear quickly in frying pan along with onion.(This seals the juices inside.)  Avoid overcooking the meat.
Add mushrooms, and stir in the wine, chives, and garlic for about 5 minutes.
Finally add sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and chives, and simmer until it almost boils.
Serve on noodles or steamed white rice.
