4oz butter
12 oz caster sugar
1 egg
9 oz self rasing flour
1 rounded teaspoon ginger

Preheat the oven to 150C
Beat the butter and caster sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and beat well.
Sieve the flour and ginger into the mixture, and mix to a stiff dough.
Roll into balls about the size of a wallnut, and place on greased baking sheets.
Cook for 40-45 mins.
