Cake:
3 eggs
pinch of salt
11.5oz white sugar
9oz butter
11.5oz flour
2/3 cup milk
1.5 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

Beat eggs and and sugar.  Sift dry ingredients together and stir into egg mixture.
Melt butter, add milk, bring to boil
Add this to flour and egg mix, along with vanilla
The mixture is extremely sloppy. I use an oval pan about 13" long and 9" wide.
Bake in greased 9"x13" pan at 325F (160C) for 40 - 55 minutes

Topping:
5oz melted butter
4.5oz chopped pecans
8oz brown sugar
3oz shredded coconut or crushed, drained pineappple
1/2 cup cream
(milk, add as needed)

Beat together butter, brown sugar and cream. Add nuts and coconut/pineapple.
Spoon over hot cake and put under grill until brown.
