It scares me that even a small number of people I know are people who have intentionally harmed themselves. (There is an argument to suggest that people who smoke and drink are in some sense self-harmers too. I think I want to differentiate between types of self-harm. Smoking Awareness Day/Week? is something different from Self Harm Awareness Day.)
I think fear is best assuaged by being educated and informed, which is why I've posted this here.
