Surprisingly simple to make; you combine something, um, sweet (eg. sugar) with something sour (lemon juice, red wine vinegar..) and something to thicken it (cornflour) in a pan, bring to the bubble and simmer to thicken like you would custard; then you pour the lot over your deep fried meat in batter, or over your StirFry? or whatever and serve. Or possibly "oriental" in the same way that ChickenTikkaMasala is "Indian"...
