In the far bay of Timbuktu (Timbuktu)
There lives a Sara Baraboo (Baraboo)
Sara Baraboo, Sara Baraboo
She has got a cow called Moo.

The thin and aging [Marabu]
Lives over Sara Baraboo's.
Sara Baraboo, Sara Baraboo
She has got a Marabu.

: And Timbuktu is overgrown with coconuts
: All sorts of nuts, and pineapples, apricots.
: Above them butterflies and hornets
: And monkeys chew bananas in the bay of Timbuktu

And that very Marabu
That lives at Sara Baraboo's
Said naught but "moo", said naught but "moo",
And nobody knew why.

So one day Sara Baraboo
Said to Moo and Marabu:
"You, Marabu, become a cow called Moo,
And you, my cow, become a Marabu."
