The Cambridge Tolkien Society. Discusses the work of J. R. R. Tolkien, typically on a Tuesday evening. The website is at http://tolkien.soc.ucam.org.

A bit of history. The CTS was founded in days of yore(TM), and when I came up to University in 1997, it had pretty much turned into an MCR DrinkingSociety. Thankfully, Messrs Rigby, Creuzer and Waller had managed to get a terms worth of program sorted out, and a few keen freshers (Messrs Vernon and Corbett and miss Scorah) joined forces to get things back off the ground again. The CTS then bimbled along for a few years, managing to do such notable things as organise a TS seminar, and in the last couple of years, numbers have taken off again.
