Short for 'System Administrator.' Usually the person who is responsible for the computers in one building, almost always their internal and external networking. They are often harrassed individuals who hold on to their patience by the tips of their fingers, because it is rare to find a user who knows what they're talking about, or even one that knows they don't know what they're talking about.

Then of course you have strange people like MoonShadow, who administrates the (small) toothycat network for fun. Although he doesn't say that at 3am on his knees in front of the server cupboard trying to figure out why the firewall has stopped talking to the outside world, or some similar thing.
