About five seconds to find ArtMarket?.com which says coming up to the end of spring is a great time in the UK. Amusingly, got best results with my typo'd search string of "uk cycle art merket"
About 2 minutes to get to http://www.accountancyage.com/best-practice/features/2147838/art-gold from the search term 'uk "fine art" "economic cycle"'. In summary, art doesn't follow the general economic cycle that closely, and different styles/artists go in and out of favour at different times. Keep fine art below 5-10% of your overall portfolio. --M-A
