As a pedant, I have to ask whether this triggers things that trigger on tapping, changing controller and so forth.  I'd imagine not, but perhaps I'm wrong? --Edwin

Uh, changing controller yes.  On tapping, I'd expect so as worded, but I only worded it that way s a slightly less clumsy way of saying 'cannot be suffering from summoning sickness' - so really no.  --Vitenka

The version AC has seen is more like "If this creature would attack, you may have it instead come under the control of a teammate playing next to you. Play this ability only if you controlled this creature continuously since your last turn". So Vigilant things can't attack then move, and it takes 2 turns for a lieutenant's creature to get to the other lieutenant's flank. --AC

AC very strongly agrees. All means all.

That is, they can target outlying enemies, and their own teammates.  --Vitenka

Not so fussed about this, and I'm used to everyone has a range of 2. So everyone can target anything except objects controlled by the player opposite them if there are still six players left alive. --AC

The disadvantage I see with that is that it would then be a perfectly viable strategy for a Lieutenant to draft heavy direct damage, and just try to inflict upwards of, say, 10 straight to the emperor before dying. This seems to leave many of the players a bit on the sidelines. --CH

Yeah, leaves you a bit open to abuse.  But without it Lieutenant speedbump becomes viable, just stay alive long enough for the emperor to build the combo of doom then die to let him unleash it on the opponent.  It is a very strange game when you want to keep your opponents Lieutenants alive...  --Vitenka
