Less well known for being the place that the modern rules of football? were invented and first played. Apparently there's a plaque to comemmerate this.

If by ModernRules? you mean 'kick the ball through the goal' rather than 'kick the players in the face' I'd love to see how they uncovered it.  If they invented the OffSide? rule, then I doubt you, since the town hasn't been firebombed ;)

(PeterTaylor) The plaque is in one of the rooms in TrinityCollege/NewCourt? (I think it's F6), which is where the CambridgeRules? were laid down. I doubt it's where they were first played.
