Society for Creative Anachronism [1]
Intriguing.  On the one hand, it says they "study [...] pre-seventeenth century Western Culture", and on the other hand, they're actually a historical re-enactment society.  Which is great, but why do they want to cover that up with claims that make them seem to be an academic society with an obscure name? --M-A
AIUI they're more academic than most re-enactment societies. -- Senji
Well, as someone involved in the SCA, I can tell you that one of the best ways to study medieval culture is to attempt to recreate it. --Marnen
