ShadowRun

Cryptic, but let's see if I can interpret.  Shadow Run is a series of books set in a dysutopian future which mixes magic and cyberpunk. (It also spawned some role playing stuff).  In the Shadow Run universe an anonymous contact who hires mercenaries (shadow runners) is called by the pseudonym "Mr. Johnson".  Devon Miles was the man in the KnightRider? tv series who had a similar role, sending Michael Knight out in KITT to effectively act as his mercenary. --Pallando

Scary, and yes, I think I got his name the wrong way around.  Just watching some of the latter where we get some wonderfully Johnson lines.  "So what happens if one of these bad-guys overreacts and decides to blow me away?" "That would be a terrible turn of events." {walks off} "But you're right.  It would solve our problem."
