Refactored a bit - see PeterTaylor/EuroElectionSWPatEnquiry for the numbered questions.

We would like to point out, respectfully, that this arrogance and denial of the democratic process is what we have been proclaiming for five years! The is not a parliament in any accepted sense of the word. It is a public fig leaf which sometimes covers the embarrassment of a corrupt and fraud driven entity, the European Union.

Perhaps you saw our PPB last night. We want OUT! We demand the right to govern ourselves, to set laws that are right for us, not have to suffer the imposition of the will of others who we cannot remove.

We have received many enquiries on this subject over the last few months and have always responded thus

" As you may know, our Party policy is that Britain would be much better off outside of the European Union and we advocate a dignified withdrawal at the first opportunity. Therefore, our three MEPs generally abstain or vote against EU legislation partly because it is usually very badly thought-out and partly because we do not approve of a European institution legislating for Britain. We do not wish to be seen to be a part of this unjust and undemocratic system. We will study all such proposals carefully."

However, at this important time, you have asked questions which may not be addressed in the above response, so I have added comments interleaved with your questions. Please come back to me if there is any further clarification required.

Tom Wise
Office manager and candidate No2

1. As stated above, all proposed legislation is carefully studied and the potential imapct assessed. In general, we tend to abstain or vote against most proposals for the reasons given above.
2. As we are all in fundamental agreement on our relationship with the EU, there is no 'whipping' policy needed. They interfere too much. We oppose more interference!
3. I have canvassed others views and cannot add to my comments. They all agree!
4. It is an appalling departure for the democratic process and should be roundly and publicly condemned. Sadly, it is all too common amnd as such, the media take little notice of it. Did you know, for instance, that the Court of Auditors has refused to sign off the accounts for the ninth year running? If this was a PLC, the company would have been closed down, the directors in prison! But hey, it is only your money they cannot account for.

If you would please supply your full postal address, I will be pleased to send you an information pack.

Which sounds very much like "We don't know, but we've got an issue where we do know what we think, so let me tell you about that!"

PeterTaylor replied to this email, and got a reply suggesting that their position was approximately (in Vitenka's words) "We don't know what you asked, but whatever Europe's position is - we disagree with it.  By the way, europe is bad."
