Latin meaning "Let it stand". Used as an indication by the author of a manuscript that something his editor changed was in fact intentional and should not be changed again. Kind of like a retroactive sic.

ChrisHowlett wonders whether it might be of use on a Wiki - if someone edits your argument to condense it, or correct a seeming illogicality, and it was what you actually meant, then Stet is a better word to use than Sic.
