Threads/WikiGlass

A material used to control magic. Obtained by /WikiTravelling to a certain plane. /WikiGlass is a very strong attractor of uncontrolled magical energy. On its own, it might be used to protect someone from a botched spell, but it almost always destroys itself instantly if made to actually hold any energy. In order to effectively use /WikiGlass, one needs some other place to transfer the errant magic.

The most common way to protect oneself from an errant spell is to /DuctTape? /WikiGlass to the ground plug on a MonsterCable? SurgeProtector, kept at a safe distance from all humans in case the surge protector should explode. Normal surge protectors are not nearly as good at stopping magic surges, and tend to melt if they do succeed.

The proper singular form of /WikiGlass is /WikiPane?, but "a piece of /WikiGlass" is just as acceptable.

/WikiGlass is supposed to be shaped like a rectangular prism-- the more perfect the shape, the longer it lasts before winking out of existence. It's reccomended for all magic, including planeshifting, which begs the question "Who got the first piece of it?". Nobody answers that question. Nobody knows what atoms /WikiGlass is made of, either, but it tastes like salt.
