How can he lose the plot?  It's written right there - the huge armies of darkness arise and then the main hero manages to end it all be sneaking in the back door, whilst the companions get pipped at a battle that you don't really know the background to because you skipped those chapters because they were so damn boring and repetitive.  See?  He's right on track still.  Pat and merrin indeed.  --Vitenka
