Tall, often white, and dribbly.

Dribbly is important.  Too many modern Candles are dribble-resistant and need to be shown the error of their ways... Yes, but dribbly-resistant is good for efficiency. -- Mjb67
The terms 'efficiency' and 'candles' are meaningless when combined in the same sentence. If you're after efficiency, you want one of [these]. Candles, OTOH have a different purpose, which, IMNSHO, requires dribbliness.

Besides, NonDribbly? candles mean fewer pools of molten wax.  And really, half the fun is poking fingers and matchsticks and other things into molten wax.  --Vitenka

They are often to be found on Cakes and in CandleSticks?.

Some Candles are used as Clocks, but more often Illumination is the primary goal.
