Every time there is something that some proportion of kids or teenagers find fun, it seems, someone pops up out of the woodwork to loudly proclaim its demonic origins. DungeonsAndDragons, HarryPotter, MagicTheGathering, Pokemon...

...guns...
Indeed. And computer games, alcohol, the Internet, hard drugs, pornography, homosexuality, ...

Well, any time such a thing has a remote connection with a fantasy world, anyway. I don't recall demonic pronouncements about StarTrek.

Oh, that caused enough trouble in its time, though for different reasons.  As I recall, Captain Kirk kissing Lieutenant Uhura (the first onscreen kiss between a white man and a black woman I believe) caused mass-hysteria in some parts of the US.

On the other hand, the number of 'Pika-thulus' I saw at the Comic-con can only add to the theory with regards to pokemon :) --Kazuhiko
When it comes to Pokemon, it is quite possible that "they" might be right about its negative effects.....(like it's being crap ^_^)

This page has a photo of cards from a Goblin Bidding deck that prompted a biiig discussion amongst the judges: every card has its rules text covered by a different quote from the Bible. MTG: Goblin Sharpshooter with NIV: Revelation 20... http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=judge/article/20040608a
