According to TeenagersFromOuterSpace?, at RTalsorianGames? a propeller beanie was a sign of great eridition and wisdom regarding all things animated and from Japan.  Therefore, any comment about how an anime trope would usually turn out in most shows, as opposed to the way that the rules of TFOS or MektonZeta? worked, were prefaced with "PropellerHeadsAreGo!" to point out how needlessly pedantic the following entry was going to be.

Which is why ElliottBelser uses it to say Pedantry Mode Activated in his Idiolect.

Incidentally, I love both of those games.  Maybe when BlissStage: Rapid Eye Movement is done...

I have seen 'propeller head' referred to in several American sources. What exactly is a propeller head? Why do, or did, people wear a hat with a propeller on it? Why are they generally portrayed as socially inept Geeks who are generally also complete idiots? I think this is purely an American thing, as I've never seen one in the UK. Please, Americans, explain! --Requiem

A propeller beanie is a rainbow-patterned skullcap with, well, a propeller on the top, that may or may not have a small electric motor attached to it.  I haven't actually run across any references to them other than in CalvinAndHobbes? and the RTalsorianGames? pedantry alerts. - ElliottBelser, who used to own a propeller head
