The cadets decide not to stand for this, and rebel. Taking the ship with them.

They manage to do it legally - by selling the TV rights. This leads to much strangeness.

But it is all done in a fairly realistic way. The producer is considered an annoyance by the crew, they kvetch about the reporter getting in their hair - and they are young and vulnerable.
