Set in the same universe as SnowCrash, some while after it; only a single, passing nonspoiler reference is made to events in SnowCrash, though, so the reading order doesn't matter, IMHO.

Each of NealStephenson's books tends to choose a single subject and grow around it. For Cryptonomicon, it was ciphers. For SnowCrash, it was memes. For "The Diamond Age", it's nanotechnology. And it's excellently treated, too.




The Diamond Age is to be made into a [TV series].
