Apathism is a genuine disinterest in the whole religion thing. Some people just don't like talking about religion for whatever reason. They prefer not to think about it and to just get on with their lives. These are the apathists. Now for some baiting:

Do people who describe themselves as [Christian] on census forms but don't go to church or take part in any form of worship apathists or is it just atheists who are tired of the whole God thing and want to talk about something else?

Is apathism a sign of an impotent national church?

Does anyone care?

Certainly not the Apathists--King DJ

It is my observation that just about everyone apart from the apathists care about this. --Requiem
Yes.  Foolish people :)  We will convert them to the true way of thinking.  But later.  Maybe.  If we can be bothered.  --Vitenka

StuartFraser is interested in what the ReligionMatters crowd have to say on [this] (Salon.com, which SF should really get a premium account with the amount of time he spends reading it, so you'll have to click through an ad to get to the article, but please do).
I read the intro, clicked on the ad, and got it, and got nothing else. Clicking on the top left corner took me to the Salon homepage. No luck there :/ - SunKitten
WorkedForMe?. Though I got a definite sense of [déjà vu]. (Was it a previous review of that book?) I can't be bothered to comment for now ;-) --Bobacus
SunKitten, I suspect you may have a cookie problem. The way it works is you click on the ad, watch the ad to the end, then you get a cookie that lets you read their articles for the rest of the day, at which point you have to click the original link again...a little awkward. -- Xarak
No, nothing happened - the ad didn't move, it just sat there. I can't alter that machine's settings, either - SunKitten
Today's ad is somewhat weird as in it has some kind of time-delay in it that triggers a link to the next ad segment or to the page itself at the end of a certain amount of time. I suspect if your JavaScript is somehow broken (although it WorksForMe? under FireFox) the link will fail to appear. --ChessyPig
